Cycas Revoluta
The Cycas Revoluta is an outdoor evergreen specimen native to the Far East belonging to the Cycadaceae family, considered one of the most ancient plants on earth.
The Cycas has a rather slow growth and the oldest specimens can reach up to 5-6 meters in height, it features a woody stem at the apex of which stiff pinnate dark green leaves propagate.
Being dioecious, there are specimens with male flowers only and others with only female flowers, it blooms in late Spring, producing its flowers at the centre of the leaves.
It grows optimally in very warm areas but also tolerates cooler climates with lower temperatures, it is appreciated as an ornamental plant to be used in a group in a garden but also as a single specimen in flower beds.
It prefers sunny exposure with good adaptability for partially shaded areas.
We suggest irrigating infrequently, when the substrate gets dry.
